Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.
News
Capital FM broadcasts news bulletins hourly between 0500 & 1800 on weekdays and between 0600 & 1200 on weekends. These bulletins contain a mix of local, national and world news, alongside sport, weather and entertainment news.

The programme schedule
Details of Capital Cymru’s programmes can be found on the schedule. This includes details of all the shows for the coming week as well as quick links to all the DJ pages.
Automated programming:
Capital Cymru’s broadcasts live from 6am until 7pm weekdays. We automate off peak programming weekdays between 7pm and 6am and weekends between 4pm and 6am.
Amount of local programming:
Capital Cymru's programming is produced locally in our studios in Wrexham for 12 hours each weekday and 7 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
Off-peak programming such as The Official Big Top 40 is produced at studios owned and operated by Capital’s parent company, Global.
Ofcom localness guidelines
Ofcom, the government regulator with responsibility for local radio, has produced localness guidelines that this station adheres to. These guidelines can be read here.
